Helping families understand the “why” behind oral function

I’m Aly, a registered dental hygienist and myofunctional therapist. My goal is to help children and adults build healthier patterns for breathing, tongue posture, swallowing, and oral function—while collaborating with the other providers involved in their care.

My interest in myofunctional therapy became personal through my own family.

While looking for answers for my son, Lane, I began learning more about airway health and oral development. I started recognizing connections between breathing, tongue posture, oral habits, sleep, and facial development that I hadn’t fully appreciated earlier in my dental career.

That experience changed the way I looked at oral health and ultimately led me to pursue additional education in myofunctional therapy.

I created MyoLane to give families a place where these functional patterns can be recognized, understood, and addressed—and where care can be coordinated with dentists, orthodontists, and other healthcare professionals when needed. And yes - the name MyoLane has a little personal meaning, too.

WHY MYOLANE?

EDUCATE
Help families understand what we're seeing and why it matters.

INDIVIDUALIZE
Build therapy around each patient's specific functional patterns and goals.

COLLABORATE
Work alongside dental, orthodontic and other healthcare professionals.

Every patient is different. My goal is to understand the patterns involved, create an individualized plan, and help coordinate care when additional evaluation may be beneficial.

MY APPROACH

Outside of MyoLane, I’m a wife and mom of two. My own family’s experience is a big part of what led me down this path, so I understand what it feels like to be a parent searching for answers and trying to determine the right next step for your child.

My hope is that every family leaves MyoLane feeling educated, supported, and confident about what comes next.
